I will graduate in the spring of ’28 with my bachelor’s degree in English.
I’m an English major with a concentration in creative writing and literature and a minor in Spanish. I have a strong interest in writing, literature analysis, language, and education. Throughout my education I have developed varying skills from critical thinking, to researching information, and adapting my writing voice to fit the assignment.
My goal in my future career is to be working as a journalist or as an English teacher. As a journalist, I want to write about traveling and learn about different cultures, while teaching appeals to me because I am passionate about education and making an impact on others while they better themselves. Although these careers vary, both are impactful to society and allows good connection, organization, and research.
As an English student, I have completed a variety of different assignments that have helped me challenge myself and learn about different styles of writing. I have learned that convincing writing is more than just the writing itself but the research that is being done, using the information that matters, and that it’s coherent for the reader.
I am continuing to develop my writing, editing, and research. I am interested in gaining experience in the field that will help me decide which career path is the best for me. Whether I work in journalism, education, or another literary field, I want the work I do to be thoughtful, clear, and impactful to others. This website is the beginning of my writing portfolio. As I continue my degree and gain more experience, I hope to use it to display my writings, projects and professional growth.
